Did SARS-CoV-2 Originate in Wuhan or Maryland?

President Donald Trump was the first to accuse China of being responsible for leaking the SARS-CoV-2 virus from its laboratory in Wuhan. He was ridiculed by one and all for what mainstream media called propagation of a ridiculous conspiracy theory. Now, a year-and-a-half later, his successor President Biden has been forced to order his government to look into it and come up with a definitive report within 90 days.

The Group of Seven (G7) has also called for a transparent study by the WHO into the origins of this virus. Earlier, a WHO-led study had concluded that the most likely origin was natural; however, now it is saying that the lab leak hypothesis should be further looked into. One of the questions that they want answered is: did the Wuhan Institute of Virology conduct gain-of-function experiments, where naturally occurring viruses are manipulated to make them more virulent?

According to the Wall Street Journal, three researchers from the lab became so sick in November 2019 (a month before the world became aware of the virus) that they had to be hospitalized. On the other hand, the China Daily has reported that no one at the lab has ever contracted the virus. China has instead claimed that the virus’s origin was outside China, and has asked for access to Fort Detrick in Maryland, U.S.A., home to the American bio-defense agency, for investigation.

In the meanwhile, President Trump has suggested that all countries come together to demand a repatriation of US$10 trillion from China to compensate for the massive loss of lives and livelihoods of millions around the globe and the destruction of economies of all nations of the world.
