Nepal Children’s Organization (NCO) was established under the National Guidance Act-2018 B.S. in 1964 A.D. (2021 B.S). NCO is widely known as Bal Mandir(The Children’s Temple) globally. It is an autonomous, non-governmental, non-profit making, non-political, and self-governing organization located at Naxal, Kathmandu working for the best interest of Nepalese children by shielding and promoting their rights in addition to providing residential care to the children in need. Providing residential care to the children at threat, Bal Mandir houses about 360 children in different NCO’s children homes. CIL- Kathmandu (Center for Independent Living of Persons with Disabilities, Kathmandu), an organization in special consultative status with UN ECOSOC, is a non-profit, non-political, self-help organization run by and for persons with disabilities. It is the first disabled persons’ organization established to promote and protect the rights of people with disabilities through the concept of ‘Independent Living’ in Nepal. Establish and strengthen independent living centers as intermediaries between persons with disabilities and the government to help implement independent living principles across Nepal.
